Privacy Policy

Information you give us

• Account: your name, email address and profile picture from Google Sign-In.
• Résumé and profile: your résumé file and text, contact details, work history, education, skills, the roles and locations you want, and optional details such as notice period, salary expectations and work authorisation.
• Answers: answers you give to application questions, which we save so they can be reused on future applications.
• Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.

Information the Chrome extension handles

The extension runs job applications in your own browser, where you are already signed in to job sites. It:

• Checks whether you are signed in to supported job sites by looking for the names of their sign-in cookies. Cookie values are never used, stored or sent to us, and your job-site passwords are never seen or stored by JobSathi. When you have one of these sites open, it also looks at the site's own header (an account menu, or a “Log in” link) to tell whether you are signed in. Only “signed in” or “signed out” is reported; nothing else from the page is collected.
• Reports to your JobSathi account which supported sites you are connected to and whether this browser is online.
• Fills in and submits application forms on supported job sites using your saved profile and answers, and reports each application's progress and result.
• When you ask it to find jobs (“Find jobs now”, or when you start applying), and about once an hour while Hands-off mode is on, opens the job sites' search pages in background tabs, reads the public job listings there and sends them to your account so they can be matched to you. It does not collect listings from pages you browse yourself.
• Sends questions it could not answer to your Inbox, and the answers you give back to your account.

The extension only acts on the job sites listed in its permissions (LinkedIn, Indeed, Naukri, Wellfound, Foundit, Instahyre, Hirist, Shine, Internshala and Apna) and only for the account it is connected to. You can disconnect it at any time from the extension or from the Job sites page.

Optional secure-browser sign-in

If you choose to sign in to a job site through the secure browser we run for you instead of the extension, we store that site's sign-in session (not your password) so JobSathi can apply there. Sessions are encrypted at rest and you can remove them by deleting your account.

How we use information

• To find and rank jobs that match your profile, and to apply to them for you.
• To fill application forms with your details and saved answers.
• To show you your matches, applications and anything that needs your attention.
• To provide support, keep the service secure, and enforce plan limits.

Who we share it with

• Employers and job sites: when JobSathi applies for you, your application details go to that job site and employer — exactly as if you had applied yourself.
• AI providers: parts of your résumé, profile and job descriptions are processed by an AI model to read your résumé, match jobs and draft answers.
• Service providers: Google (sign-in), Razorpay (payments, if you subscribe), our email provider (support and notifications) and our hosting provider.
• We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Security and retention

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and sensitive data such as saved sign-in sessions is encrypted at rest. We keep your data while your account is active, except: run logs are deleted after 30 days, finished application tasks after 90 days, and the security log of account actions after 180 days. Deleting your account (Account → Delete account) immediately and permanently removes your résumé, profile, saved answers, saved sign-ins and application history; copies in our encrypted backups expire on the normal backup cycle.

Your choices

• Edit your profile, résumé and saved answers at any time.
• Disconnect the extension, or uninstall it, whenever you like.
• Delete your account and all associated data from the Account page.
• Contact us to access or correct your data.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

JobSathi's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the job-application features described above, is not transferred to third parties except as described here, and is never used for advertising or credit-worthiness decisions, and is not read by humans except with your permission, for security, or as required by law.
